We’re pleased to invite you to our next online event, on 7th April 2022, where the theme will be Post-Lockdown Life and Work: Mental Wellbeing.

About this Event

It gives us great pleasure to announce Diversity in Pensions (DiP) are back with our first event for 2022!

  • Who: Diversity in Pensions
  • What: Post-Lockdown Life and Work: Mental Wellbeing
  • When: Thursday 7th April @ 4pm to 5.30pm (GMT)
  • Where: Online

The event will focus on mental health and wellbeing, and explore the challenges and opportunities experienced during the period of mandatory working from home in lockdown; and those presented as we all navigate the new, hybrid ways of working.

There will be two guest speakers on the day who will share their personal experiences on the subject, and what their respective firms are doing to help.

Andy McAleese (He/Him) – Head of Longevity, Pacific Life Re

Andy is Head of Longevity and member of the Europe Leadership Team at Pacific Life Re, where he is responsible for the company’s pensions risk transfer business. He lives with depression and anxiety and is passionate about using his experience and leadership position to advocate for removing mental health stigma and promoting change to support well-being in workplaces. In 2021 he received the Most Inspiring Senior Leader award at the This Can Happen mental health awards.

Laasya Shekaran (She/Her) – Investment Consultant, LCP

Laasya works with a range of clients, including trustees and sponsors of pension schemes. She is extremely proud to chair the LCP Multicultural Network, one of LCP’s fantastic employee-led diversity and inclusion networks that focuses on promoting an anti-racist culture within LCP and across the industry; helping celebrate the diversity that multicultural backgrounds bring to the firm.

Itinerary for the event are as follows (but subject to change):

  • Overview of session from DiP, introductions from Laasya and Andy
  • Personal experience of lock down inc. pros and cons, and how that interacted with mental health
  • What LCP and Pacific Life Re are doing with return to work, mental health and impact on inclusion
  • Q&A in the wider group
  • Breakout into smaller groups, to discuss individual thoughts.

We look forward to seeing you there.
